Ziyech looks set to get another chance to impress when Chelsea host Rennes in their Champions League clash on Wednesday, after scoring against Burnley on his first Premier League start at the weekend.
The winger already has a couple of goals for Lampard's side - despite having made only starts since joining from Ajax in the summer after he sustained a knee injury in pre-season.
And Ferdinand reckons he could prove to be the best buy from Chelsea's £200million-plus spending splurge in the summer transfer window, which saw Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell arrive at Stamford Bridge.
