Cornish baker Marc Elliott narrowly missed out on the Great British Bake Off this evening after his disastrous Showstopper. Judge Paul Hollywood likened Marc's jelly cake to being like "concrete", remarking: "I could have stood on that." On the other hand, Hermime was awarded Star Baker after wowing with her stunning dessert decorated with a beautiful poppy.
During this week's quarter final, the bakers were came face to face with dessert week. Among the creations they were tasked with creating included a baked cheesecake, steamed pudding and a jelly art dessert cake.
