Former Smallville star Alison Mack has been handed a three-year jail sentence for her part in the Nxivm sex cult. Mack, 38, pleaded guilty to racketeering and conspiracy charges over her efforts to recruiting women to the cult.
Leader Keith Raniere was jailed for 120 years in 2020 for a string of crimes, including forcing women to be his sex 'slaves'.
In a letter read out to court before her sentencing, Mack apologised for 'exposing' victims to the 'nefarious and emotionally abusive schemes of a twisted man.' Her plea to the court to spare her jail time was overlooked and she was sentenced to three years behind bars.
Mack's family said that following her arrest, the former actress had been taking university courses and working in catering.
