Northern Gateway scheme will transform Collyhurst and the area around the Irk Valley to the north of the city centre. In among high rise flats and family homes unveiled in the project's latest plans are proposals for 130 new council houses.They include an apartment block on Rochdale Road and three storey townhouses on the estate's planned new streets.But what can tenants expect from Manchester's newest council houses?In what developers are calling 'Collyhurst Village' - the area to the north of Shellard Street and east of Rochdale Road - there will be two types of houses, apartments and townhouses.Along Rochdale Road three council-owned blocks will include 76 flats.On the ground and first floors, 24 two and three bedroom 'duplex' style.
