Coronavirus: Knowsley named new infection hotspot as North West cases spike

Knowsley is now the place in England with the highest coronavirus infection rate in the country as cases in the North West continue to spike.

The Merseyside borough recorded 867 new cases recorded in the seven days to October 4. That is the equivalent of 574.7 cases per 100,000 people, or one in every 174 contracting the disease.

Nearby Liverpool has the second highest rate, which has jumped from 342.3 to 551.6, with 2,747 new cases. Do you have a coronavirus story to share?
