The Reds are seen as front-runners for his signature when the transfer window reopens although they only have until 15 June to activate the player’s £50million release clause.
Werner won’t come cheap, but he could be a fantastic compliment to the club’s already devastating front three. The 24-year-old is currently valued at £56million, and while few doubt that it would be a good investment for Liverpool, it remains unclear if the club will decide to do the deal.
