John Hopewell Chief International CorrespondentLola Arabia, the United Arab Emirates label of Oscar-winning Spanish producer Andrés Vicente Gómez (“Belle Epoque”), has struck a 12-movie co-production deal with Dubai-based Charisma Group.The alliance will take in a range of titles, from $2 million-budgeted contemporary comedies to banner productions budgeted at $40 million, revolving around contemporary and historic stories of West Asia.The partners aim to produce an average of four films a year, said Charisma Group co-president Ayham Al Ziyoud.Development has begun on the whole slate. “Although in principle we plan projects with modest budgets, these will be increased in the following year once we find the rights partners outside the Gulf States,” Gómez said.

La La Land Oscar winners Damien Chazelle and Justin Hurwitz will join Jamie Lee Curtis to introduce their hit 2016 movie musical as part of the latest Lionsgate Live! A Night at the Movies event on Friday (May 1, 2020).

Netflix has unveiled The Eddy trailer, the new limited series directed by Damien Chazelle (La La Land), Alan Poul (Tales of the City), Houda Benyamina (Divines) and Laïla Marrakchi (Le Bureau des Légendes). The new series, which lands in May, stars André Holland, Joanna Kulig, Tahar Rahim, Leïla Bekhti and Amandla Stenberg.

Assuming you can't stop what you're doing right and fly to Paris to hang out in jazz clubs, you can delight in the next best thing: Netflix's trailer of the upcoming series The Eddy. From La La Land writer and director Damien Chazelle, The Eddy is an eight-episode musical drama set in the jazz world of modern-day Paris. It is also, as indicated by this preview, a whole damn mood, alluring in the away it immerses viewers in the sights and sounds in the City of Light.

As I began writing this piece, I couldn't help but revisit the trailer of La La Land. Titled Dreamers, the trailer, which now stands at 37 million views, is a movie within itself. Your first thought would most probably be "spectacular!" Your second thought might be bordering on "larger than life!" While both terms are apt for Damien Chazelle's directorial, La La Land is so much more! It's storytelling and filmmaking at it's finest. At the core, it's Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone who tell us a story of the hopelessness of love and love, in itself.

Fall is typically when the best TV shows come out, but this year's spring slate is pretty damn fantastic, if you ask me. So many of your favorite shows are coming back—like and .
