Usually, the Islamic festival is a time for families and friends to come together to visit different homes, share food and catch up with loved ones.
This year, due to the pandemic, local authorities such as Bury Council put guidelines in place to allow people to celebrate the festival safely but these are now superseded by the official government advice.
Due to higher rates of infection, if you live in this area you should not host or visit friends and family in each other’s homes or gardens.
