West Lothian Council’s Street Cleansing service has restarted.The council is re-introducing many services on a phased and gradual basis following updated guidance from the Scottish Government.Street cleansing has been temporarily suspended with staff redeployed into the Household Waste Collection Service to ensure the service continued to fully operate during the lockdown.Road sweeping and litter picking will gradually return across all areas with priority initially given to the areas most affected.This includes the uplift of waste from public bins across town and village centres.This service has continued throughout the lockdown although on a much-reduced level.Support for community litter picks will also return when restrictions.
