“American Horror Story” is getting a new set of horrors. FX has officially picked up “American Horror Stories,” the spinoff to Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s long-running FX anthology series.
Murphy teased the expansion earlier this month. Good luck telling the two shows apart. In the original “AHS,” each season is a self-contained miniseries, featuring plots like a haunted hotel where Lady Gaga vamps around and monster creatures assault Schmidt (Max Greenfield) from “New Girl,” or stories involving murderous clowns at an old-fashioned carnival freak show.
So far, nine seasons have aired, and it’s been renewed through 13. In the “Stories” spinoff, each episode will tell a stand-alone story, similar to “The Twilight Zone” or “Black Mirror.”
