Wayne Rooney is set to join a five-a-side team this summer made up for former Manchester United and Manchester City legends.That’s according to Stephen Ireland, who has lifted the lid on how he has been keeping in shape without a club.The ex-Ireland international is currently a free agent having cancelled his contract with Bolton by mutual consent in 2018.But the 33-year-old still believes he can compete with the best and is regularly training at home to keep in shape.He’s also part of a five-a-side team which features the likes of former United players Darren Fletcher and Wes Brown, as well as ex-City defender Joleon Lescott.“The standard is frighteningly high,” Ireland told The Athletic, who also claims Derby’s Rooney will join the team.
