The incident has now been referred to the independent police watchdog. Officers were on patrol in the Castleton area of Rochdale at around 11:20pm last night (Saturday) "when they saw a Ford Eco Sport driving at speed," Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said in an update issued this afternoon.
