Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill quickly erupted after hundreds of protesters marched from Bristol's College Green to the New Bridewell police station.
The Bill would grant police greater powers to control non-violent protest, especially those deemed "noisy" or a nusiance. Police Federation representatives said Avon and Somerset officers had suffered broken bones after being attacked by rioters.Vandals smashed the windows of the police station and also targeted Avon and Somerset Police vans parked nearby.
