A major search has been launched after cries for help were heard coming from a river in Ayrshire.Police and Coastguard rescue teams were called to Pinmore Bridge near Girvan around 11am.A resident in a house near Minuntion Farm phoned emergency services reporting that a person had possibly fallen into the water in the River Stinchar off the B734.A Coastguard spokesman said: “HM Coastguard was called at around 11.17am today to assist Police Scotland after a report of a possible person in the water in the River Stinchar off the B734. “Coastguard rescue teams from Girvan, Stranraer, Portpatrick, Ayr and Ballantrae have been sent, along with the coastguard search and rescue helicopter from Prestwick.“This is an ongoing search and we have no
