'Unexploded bomb' found in Glasgow river as emergency services race to Kelvingrove Park

Glasgow river sparking an emergency response. Police and bomb squad crews raced to the River Kelvin, near Kelvin Way, after the item was discovered at around 2.45pm on Wednesday, July 28.

Local reports suggested the item was an unexploded bomb dating back to World War Two. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team attended to assess.The squad were on the scene for several hours, before "dealing with the item".Raising the alarm, one eyewitness said on social media: "They found an unexploded bomb dating back to World War Two in the water in the River Kelvin.
