A danger to life warning is in place in parts of the UK today as torrential rainstorms batter the country. The Met Office has issued an amber warning covering much of Wales this morning.
This means that homes and businesses are likely to be flooded, causing damage to some buildings. There is also a danger to human life due to fast flowing or deep floodwater.
Transport chaos is also forecast , with delays and cancellations to train and bus services expected in the area. There could also be road closures and some communities even cut off by the heavy rain.
Three separate yellow Met Office warnings for rain are also in place today. They cover parts of southwest England, most of Wales, and large swathes of northwest England.
