Brits are experiencing one of the coldest ever August Bank Holiday weekends. Temperatures dropped to as low as 6C overnight with more miserable, chilly weather forecast on Sunday and Monday.
Beaches were empty on Saturday as temperatures struggled to climb over 18C in the South East. The scenes were a far cry from the same weekend in 2019, when beauty spots and outdoor spaces were packed as temperatures climbed to 33C in London.
High temperatures are 5C lower than average and some parts of Scotland may even get a touch of frost. The Met Office forecasts highs of around 11C on Monday in Scotland's central Highlands.
