The UK's coronavirus death toll has risen by 65 - the lowest daily increase in five months. Today's total is down 34% since last Monday and is the lowest figure since October 12, when 50 people lost their lives.

This increase brings the nation's total to 124,566, the Department of Health confirmed today. Last Monday, March 1, 104 people lost their lives to Covid-19 - compared to 178 fatalities seven days before.

A month ago, on Monday, February 8, the death toll rose by 333. Statistics also show that the UK has registered 4,712 cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours.
