This is the emotional moment a mother and daughter were finally allowed to hold hands after six months apart. Sheila Hall, 81, who has Alzheimer's disease and dementia, has been in a care home since September.
Her daughter was unable to visit her at Eothen Homes in Wallsend, North Tyneside, due to the coronavirus pandemic. Before moving to the home, the grandmother-of-four used to live with her daughter, also called Sheila Hall.
They had not been able to meet each other since the move but they finally were able to reunite on Monday - and were also allowed to hold hands.
The moving moment, shared with Chronicle Live, was made possible after care home visiting rules changed from Monday as part of Boris Johnson's lockdown-easing roadmap.
