Friends and relatives will be able to have indoor visits with loved ones in care homes from tomorrow as lockdown rules begin to ease in England.
Under new guidance, residents will be able to nominate a named visitor who will be able to see them regularly - and they can even hold hands.
Indoor care home visits have been banned during the latest lockdown in England and strict restrictions have been in place throughout the pandemic.
Campaigners have repeatedly warned that the strict rules have been devastating for vulnerable care home residents, some of whom will not have been able to hug their loved ones in months.
