Delighted UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has hailed German football as an example for others to follow after they announced the return of the Bundesliga.
Fixtures will recommence on May 16 as the beautiful game exits cold storage after two months on the shelf.The European governing body have pushed for their individual league members to give themselves time before making a final decision on their respective leagues.But with news that the Bundesliga will make a triumphant return next weekend - Ceferin believes it is the first sign that the sport can adapt amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
And it strengthens UEFA's own position as they continue to push for the completion of the 2019/20 Champions League and Europa League campaigns.
