BUKU Music + Arts Project was one of the first U.S. festivals to fall to the novel coronavirus in 2020. It was scheduled for March 20–21 of that year, a week after SXSW was forced to cancel, giving touring musicians little incentive to make New Orleans a stop on their tours, pandemic aside.
The festival was cancelled again this year, as COVID rates rose alarmingly across Louisiana and the nation throughout the winter.
Today, BUKU announced its 10-year anniversary lineup. Set for March 25–26, 2022, the festival will take place between the Market Street Power Plant and Mardi Gras World, overlooking the Mississippi River, and feature headliners Tyler, the Creator and Tame Impala, as well as a diverse undercard of hip-hop, R&B, and EDM.
