The alleged attack took place at a property on Bosden Fold at 11am on Monday. Police were called to reports a man was being attacked with an iron bar and later arrested two men.
The suspects, aged 22 and 50, were held on suspicion of assault and interviewed before being 'released under investigation'.
There are no reports anyone was hurt during the incident. Witnesses reported police and forensics experts were focusing on one property in Bosden Fold.
