A star of telly hit The Nest is facing prison over an alleged assault on his own brother. Actor Paul Brannigan, who plays wayward Doddy on the BBC drama, was arrested and held by cops after a fight in Glasgow on New Year’s Day.

He was then charged with assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement. Prosecutors claim Paul, 33, repeatedly stabbed sibling David, 29, during the row.

At the time, police confirmed the incident left a man hospitalised. When Paul attended court on January 3 he made no plea and was released on bail.

Scotland’s public prosecution service last night confirmed to the Daily Star that the case is ongoing and Paul still faces the charges.
