A three-year-old British girl has drowned after falling into a swimming pool on Spain's Costa del Sol. Emergency responders tried to save the young child after receiving a 999 call around midday today (Wednesday).
However, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have launched an investigation into tragedy but, at this stage, the girl's death is being treated as an accident, the Mirror reports. It has not yet been confirmed whether the child was holidaying at the house with her parents or lived at the property. However, one local report described the property as the family home and said the youngster had two older siblings at a local school.
Well-placed sources said they were looking at the possibility the girl fell into the pool after straying outside without her mum and dad realising.
