Richard Madeley has opened up about his and wife Judy Finnigan’s sleeping arrangements, revealing that he often finds himself in the spare room.
Richard, who joined Good Morning Britain back in 2017, revealed that he and Judy sleep in separate rooms when he’s filming the ITV daytime show in order to avoid disrupting the sleep of his wife of 37 years. “When I'm doing Good Morning Britain I sleep in the spare room.
I do probably sleep a little bit better in bed with Judy but I'm okay on my own,” he told Kate Thornton on her White Wine Question Time podcast.
As he discussed the topic further, the TV personality revealed just how important sleep was to Judy. “I wouldn't think of doing that to Judy,” he added. “Apart from anything else, Judy and her sleep, you do not mess with.” However, recalling their time presenting This Morning together between 1988 and 2001, Richard, 68, explained that their sleep routines were a lot simpler. “The alarm would go off, we'd both get up and roll into our jeans, get in the car, and drive to Liverpool to do the show, and then when we were in London, drive down to the Southbank.
