A top referee has died in a tragic accident at an electricity substation, with tributes flooding in for the 'experienced' official.
Richard Scott passed away aged just 33 in an incident at a substation in County Armagh, Northern Ireland, yesterday morning.
Electricity company NIE Networks confirmed a colleague had died while working at the Drumnakelly in Portadown. Mr Scott, who was a top official with the Irish FA, has been described as an 'experienced referee' who will never be forgotten within the local football community.
He was set to referee Tobermore United's game with Ballymoney on Saturday, however the match has been cancelled out of respect.
