BBC One's Sunday night adaptation of David Nicholls' novel Us, described an average 24 hours for the Sunday Times Magazine's A Life in the Day.
In the long-running feature, he describes using his phone light to illuminate his nighttime wee so he doesn't miss the target and popping sleeping pills to aid his slumber.He also tells how he has baked porridge - a healthy recipe he manages to make unhealthy with added oil and salt - for breakfast and several cups of coffee.There's a dose of self-deprecation too as the 53-year-old star of cult sitcom Rev and big budget TV drama The Night Manager talks about examining his bald patch and expanding waist line.But it's his "hobbies and extracurricular activities" that really seem to have struck a chord.
