Tipping Point viewers were frustrated by a hunky player's 'wasteful' tactics during the latest episode.Tuesday's edition (May 24) of the ITV quiz show welcomed a handsome player named Alex alongside competitors Rob and Freya. While things got off to a bad start for Alex, he did succeed in accumulating five counters during his solo cash-building round.Having added nothing to his penalty pot in previous rounds, the pressure was on for Alex to make some money and catch his fellow contestants - but he went a different way.Instead of trying to catch up with Freya and Rob in the money stakes, Alex chased down a mystery counter. As a result, Alex did bag himself a kitchen mixer mystery prize but he also went home first.Posting to Twitter, Tipping Point viewers couldn't help but point out the flaw in his tactics and said Alex had 'threw away his chances' and 'wasted five counters'.One fan wrote: "Alex is throwing away his chance of winning by chasing the shit mystery prize ffs!"Another commented: "Stop going for the mystery you could have caught her up Alex."Meanwhile, a third viewer quipped: "Five wasted counters to get a kitchen mixer when there was a fair chance of going into the final round with that double."A fourth sarcastically replied: "Yep, that was worth the s*****y mystery, wasn't it?""Stop going for the mystery you could have caught her up Alex," another frustrated fan concluded.Speaking after his exit, Alex told Tipping Point host Ben Shephard: "Thank you so much.""My nan loves this show so she's going to be gutted but I've had so much fun and good luck to the other contestants."Following Alex's exit, Rob and Freya were left to compete for the chance of scooping a jackpot prize.Rob ended up advancing to the final.
