Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage (born March 5, 1963), better known by his stage name Joe Exotic, is an American former zoo operator, internet personality, musician, and convicted felon. The former owner and operator of the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park (a.k.a. G. W. Zoo) in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Maldonado-Passage had claimed to be the most prolific breeder of tigers in the United States. He twice unsuccessfully ran for public office, first for President of the United States in 2016 as an independent, and then for Governor of Oklahoma in 2018 as a Libertarian.
Carole Baskin
Carole Baskin (born June 6, 1961) is an American animal rights activist and owner of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary based near Tampa, Florida. Baskin drew public attention when she was featured in the 2020 Netflix documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness about Oklahoma-based private zoo operator known as Joe Exotic. The Netflix series follows both Baskin and Joe Exotic, filming their ongoing and escalating feuds over exotic animals in private zoos. Following the series' release, Baskin has been targeted by Internet memes related to the disappearance of Don Lewis, her second husband.

Joe Exotic's old zoo won't be housing any exotic animals for the the foreseeable decades.Carole Baskin, Exotic's longtime enemy, sold the Oklahoma property– formerly known as The Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park – for $140,000 in June.The sale also came with one huge stipulation:the new ownersare prohibited from using the property 'to house exotic animals of any kind — or as a zoo, wildlife park or menagerie'for the next 100 years, according toTMZ.

Done deal: Carole Baskin, 60, has sold Joe Exotic's former Oklahoma zoo for $140,000, with the stipulation that the property can't be used as a zoo for 100 yearsBaskin's husband, Howard Baskin, also told TMZ that the new owners are barred from 'ever being associated with he who shall not be.
