Three police officers injured in Morrisons armed robbery car crash

Morrisons.Merseyside Police said the crash happened while the officers were racing to the supermarket in Belle Vale on Thursday morning.They had received reports of a man armed with a knife stealing a cash box from a security guard.

The marked Peugeot 308 police car then collided with a BMW on Childwall Valley Road.Three officers have all been taken to hospital as a precaution.Nobody else is believed to have been injured.Childwall Valley Road and Belle Vale Road have been closed to allow for the vehicles to be recovered.In a statement, Merseyside Police said: "We are appealing for information following a cash in transit robbery in Belle Vale this morning, Thursday, 8 October."At 9.20am, officers were called to Morrisons in Belle Vale.
