This Stockport pub serves one of the official best pies in Britain

manchestereveningnews.co.ukA pub in Stockport has just won several awards at the British Pie Awards 2020. The Crown in Hawk Green scooped gold for its chicken lava pie at the annual awards in Melton Mowbray, marking the end of British Pie Week.
The pub also won a silver award for its chicken, ham and mushroom pie; and a bronze award for its steak, stout and mushroom pie.
Sharing the achievement on Facebook, The Crown posted: "We couldn’t be prouder! "Well done to our fabulous chef Steve for picking up these category wins at the Melton Mowbray Pie Awards 2020." Though The Crown was the big winner from the region, there were other prizes scooped across Greater Manchester.
