Television chef James Martin has blasted no-show customers who failed to turn up for restaurant bookings. The cook ranted about diners who failed to turn up for their booked tables when speaking to Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford on This Morning today.
The former host of Saturday Kitchen referred to a friend's eatery whereof 100 bookings only 4 turned up, meaning there were 92 customers who did not visit the restaurant.
Addressing the issue on the ITV morning show, James said: "Fortunately only a few times, not to the extent of some people I've heard about. "One of my friends had 96 people booked for lunch and only four turned up." James also addressed the difficulties this places on restaurant owners as tough calls have to be made.
