There were questions to be raised, however, with the defending with the two goals conceded and the decisions made on the pitch.
For Newcastle's opening goal, Billy Crellin gave possession to Brandon Comley, but the midfielder was quickly dispossessed by Anderson, who shrugged off the following challenges to put the Toon ahead.
