Fabergé in London: Romance to Revolution examines the life and legacy of Carl Fabergé, his relationship with the last Tsar of Russia, Nicholas II, and his wife, Alexandra, his other clients, including the British Royal family, and his London shop, adored by Edwardian aristocracy.
On display will be caskets decorated with diamonds, clocks adorned with sapphires and emeralds, ornate photograph frames, cigarette cases, vases, tiaras, brooches and pendants.As Kieran McCarthy, co-curator of the exhibition, puts it, "The history of the House of Fabergé is woven into that of the dying days of the ill-fated Romanov dynasty and a doomed emperor.
