Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary; born 21 April 1926) is Queen of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms. Elizabeth was born in London, the first child of the Duke and Duchess of York, later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, and she was educated privately at home. Her father ascended the throne on the abdication of his brother King Edward VIII in 1936, from which time she was the heir presumptive. She began to undertake public duties during the Second World War, serving in the Auxiliary Territorial Service. In 1947, she married Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, a former prince of Greece and Denmark, with whom she has four children: Charles, Prince of Wales; Anne, Princess Royal; Prince Andrew, Duke of York; and Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex.

The Queen stuns royal fans as she takes part in historic first ever public video call from Windsor Castle

The Queen has wowed royal fans as she took part in her first ever video call, where she spoke with carers who have been looking after family members throughout the coronavirus pandemic.The 94 year old monarch, who has been keeping busy in lockdown by completing crosswords and going on long walks, was joined on the video call by her daughter Princess Anne, 69, who phoned in from her country home of Gatcombe Park, Gloucestershire, to celebrate the incredible work done to mark Carers Week 2020.

In the short clip, which was shared on the Royal Family's official Twitter page, Queen Elizabeth II could be seen speaking from a sitting room in Windsor Castle, where she's currently isolating with her husband Prince Philip.
