Last month, Greater Manchester Police raided a common room in Owens Park and issued eight £800 fines to students for allegedly being part of a large gathering.The students said they all lived in the same block of accommodation and should have been considered part of the same household.The uni's rules say each floor of the block should be considered a household - students say this is not practical as there is only one common room for all those living in the block to share.GMP later confirmed the Fallowfield patrols were 'proactive', meaning they were not in.
