The Invisible Man tops the box office with $29M amid glowing reviews

Orville Peck has shared the first four tracks from his forthcoming second album, ‘Bronco’, releasing an EP dubbed ‘Chapter 1’ today (February 11).Leading the pack is a smoky, retro-tinged love song titled ‘C’mon Baby, Cry’, which serves as the lead single from ‘Bronco’, and comes alongside a video directed by Austin Peters. When Benjamin Wallfisch learned that he was going to compose the score for the 2020 reboot of “The Invisible Man,” he deliberately stayed away from rewatching the 1933 original. The goal, he says, was “to keep the sound as fresh as possible.”

One of the first conversations production designer Alex Holmes had with “The Invisible Man” director Leigh Whannell was about grounding the film in reality and treating it like a psychological thriller, rather than a horror or science-fiction movie.

A woman-in-peril movie is a not a new thing (just think of “Wait Until Dark,” “Eyes of Laura Mars,” or “Panic Room”), and neither is a woman-in-peril movie in which the heroine, after being stalked and terrorized, takes charges and fights back. That was the scenario, 30 years ago, in “Sleeping with the Enemy,” a grindingly effective but rather reductive B-movie that became a success in the summer of 1991, mostly because it was the first film designed as a dramatic showcase for Julia Roberts after “Pretty Woman.”
