After record low ratings this year, the Academy Awards is hoping for a big, glamorous comeback in 2022.On Thursday, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences announced the ceremony will once again be held at LA's Dolby Theatre after this year's socially-distanced event at Union Station.The official date has also been set for next year's festivities: Sunday, March 27th, 2022.This year's awards event – which was scaled back due to the Covid-19 pandemic – drew only9.23 million viewers, which representeda giant 51 percent drop from the 18.69 million who watched the show in 2020.

On Thursday, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences was looking ahead, when it announced the official date for next year's Oscars: Sunday, March 27th,.
