Terrified child tells 999 handler 'my mum is dead' as murderer lurks downstairs

mirror.co.ukA daughter called 999 after finding her mum dead while a killer lurked downstairs. Magdalena Pacult was discovered on New Year's Day by her daughter, Wiktoria Bartnik.
The mum was covered in blood after she was brutally beaten and smothered by Piort Cichy, the Liverpool Echo reported. During Cichy's trial at Liverpool Crown Court the 999 call made by Ms Bartnik was played to the jury.
The terrified teenager told the operator that the killer had previously threatened her mum. Speaking to the caller the 16-year-old said: "He's been saying she's going to die. "Please I'm scared I feel like he can hear me, he's in the house." Officers arrived at the Stockbridge Village six minutes after Ms Bartnik made the 999 call.
