He was found at around 11.30am after emergency services were called to a person getting into difficulty in the water on Tuesday afternoon, DerbyshireLive reports.
A spokesperson for Derbyshire police said: "The body believed to be that of a 16-year-old boy has been recovered from a stretch of the River Trent, near Swarkstone. "Specialist teams from Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire police and Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service carried out extensive search and rescue efforts, but sadly the boy’s body was recovered from the water just after 11.30am."The boy’s family have been made aware and specially.Read more on dailystar.co.uk
