He was found at around 11.30am after emergency services were called to a person getting into difficulty in the water on Tuesday afternoon, DerbyshireLive reports.
A spokesperson for Derbyshire police said: "The body believed to be that of a 16-year-old boy has been recovered from a stretch of the River Trent, near Swarkstone.
