Taraji P. Henson will host the 2020 American Music Awards, which are set to be handed out Nov. 22 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
The show will air live at 8 p.m. ET (tape-delayed on the West Coast) on ABC. "The AMAs brings together the music community to celebrate what really drives all artists — the fans," Henson said in a statement. "I'm proud to take the stage as this year's host — and also a fan — for what promises to be an electrifying night of music." Henson has won a Golden Globe and multiple Emmy noms for her role on Empire.
She also has starred in the filmsHidden Figures and Hustle & Flow, and is the best-selling author of a memoir, Around the Way Girl.
