Public Image Ltd (PiL) have announced plans to release an alternative US mix of their debut album ‘First Issue’ on Record Store Day 2025.The “long lost” version of the 1978 record from the post-punk band, fronted by former Sex Pistols vocalist John Lydon, features mixes and re-recordings of tracks from the original album that were created during the 1979 sessions for their second studio album ‘Metal Box’.This version of ‘First Issue’ has never been released and it includes different sleeve artwork compared to the original version.According to the official RSD listing “an alternative version of ‘First Issue’ was initially intended for release by Warner Bros. in 1979, but it never saw the light of day.

Q Lazzarus’ full version of the Talking Heads classic ‘Heaven’ has been released for the first time – listen below.The mysterious cult musician, best known for her 1988 song ‘Goodbye Horses’, first recorded the cover for her appearance in Jonathan Demme’s 1993 film Philadelphia, but the full track was never released.Lazzarus herself – real name Diane Luckey – appeared in the movie, singing the song, in what proved to be a rare public appearance during her lifetime. She passed away in 2022 at the age of 61.Now, the track has been shared in full, as a preview of ‘Goodbye Horses: The Many Lives Of Q Lazzarus’, a compilation of tracks recorded by the artist between 1985 and 1995.

The Cure‘s Robert Smith has revealed that he does not “stream music on principle” – see what he had to say below.During a new interview on the Sidetracked podcast with Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw, in which he celebrated the release of the band’s latest LP, ‘Songs Of A Lost World’, Smith touched on his listening habits, revealing that he isn’t a fan of streaming.While he doesn’t go into detail on why he doesn’t “stream music on principle and never will”, it’s likely akin to his longstanding issues with ticketing platforms such as Ticketmaster.Instead, besides vinyl, Smith listens to music through a collection of “loads and loads” of iPods that he owns. The Cure‘s Robert Smith has discussed “obsessive fan behaviour” and Chappell Roan‘s sudden rise to fame in a new interview.The frontman commented on the impact of fame during a new interview on the Sidetracked podcast with Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw, in which he celebrated the release of the band’s latest LP, ‘Songs Of A Lost World’.He began discussing his extensive music collection but added it would be “disingenuous” to pretend he’d engaged in this year’s pop phenomenons – Charli XCX‘s ‘Brat’ summer and Chappell Roan’s debut LP ‘The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess‘.Smith said the records aren’t aimed at him, and that “It would be kind of a bit weird if I was like ‘yeah it’s my favourite thing’.” He then added: “I think what they do as artists is really fantastic but I think that probably it would be dishonest if I said it’s what I listen to at home.”However, he went on to say he’d been aware of Roan for a long time, as well as her very sudden ascent to fame in the year since the release of her 2023 debut album.Roan has been vocal about her experiences of fame this year, venting about the normalisation of extreme fan behaviour, including “stalking, talking shit online, [people who] won’t leave you alone [and] yelling at you in public”. She added: “I didn’t know it would feel this bad.”The former NME Cover star also compared fame to “an abusive ex-husband”.

Public Image Ltd (PiL) have added more dates for 2025.Fronted by former Sex Pistols vocalist John Lydon, the post-punk band last performed in the UK in September 2023 before embarking on a run of European dates in support of their 11th and most recent studio album, last year’s ‘End Of World’.Lydon later said that he thought the group may not tour together again, comments which came after his lifelong friend and manager, John Rambo Stevens, died suddenly following the last PiL tour, in December 2023. Lydon’s wife, Nora, also passed away that April.However, the outpouring of support he received from fans when he undertook a spoken word tour of the UK earlier this year inspired him to hit the road with PiL once again.In November, they announced what was initially a 23-date run, with the ‘This Is Not The Last Tour’ kicking off in May 2025, making stops in Bristol, Newcastle, Dublin, Cardiff, Oxford, Sheffield, Northampton, Holmfirth, Coventry, Cork and more.We are pleased to announce 4 more UK shows for 2025.

Check it out below along with new single ‘$0’.The frontman of the former NME Cover artist has announced today (November 19) the release of his first solo LP – a 10-track record that sees Winter embrace a unique sound influenced by the likes of Tom Waits and Bob Dylan and unleash his creativity with songs that explore chaos and existential dread.Winter released his first offering of the LP in the form of the song ‘$0’ – a spiralling six-minute piano ballad with whimsical strings and brooding melancholy.
