They reunited in 2001 and released a third album ‘Nextdoorland’ the following year, before splitting once again in 2003.The band’s bassist Matthew Seligman died in 2020 from COVID-19 complications at the age of 64.Yo La Tengo are playing at the Bowery Ballroom every night up to and including New Year’s Day.

Renowned guitarist and lawyer Matthew Seligman has died of COVID-19 at the age of 64.

Musician Matthew Seligman, who was best known as the bass players for The Soft Boys, has died. He was 64.Former Soft Boys frontman Robyn Hitchcock confirmed the news of Seligman's death in a heartfelt Facebook post on Friday (April 17)."I’m writing this as Matthew Seligman slips out of this life and into wherever souls go next," wrote Hitchcock, who met Seligman in 1976.

Seligman also worked with Morrissey, Sinead O'Connor and The Thompson Twins
