Matthew Seligman dead at 64: David Bowie guitarist dies of coronavirus

Renowned guitarist and lawyer Matthew Seligman has died of COVID-19 at the age of 64. He is best known for his work as a musician as part of the Thompson Twins and The Dolphin Brothers, along with backing David Bowie at Live Aid in 1985.

In a statement from his friend and colleague, solicitor Rod Campbell-Taylor said: "My friend and colleague Matthew Seligman died late yesterday (April 17) aged 64 after nearly two weeks battling Covid-19 on a ventilator at St George's Hospital, London." He leaves behind a son, Deji, and a daughter, Lily, and Mami, his partner and Lily's mother.

During the 1980s, he was a member of Thompson Twins and The Soft Boys, as well as working as a side man for Thomas Dolby. He garnered renown as a sessions
