Heartworms has shared a foreboding new single titled ‘Extraordinary Wings’. Check it out below. The new track from the South London artist and NME Cover star comes as the latest preview of her highly anticipated album ‘Glutton For Punishment’.

The debut album is set for release on February 7 via Speedy Wunderground. With an accompanying music video directed by frequent collaborator Gilbert Trejo, the new single arrives on the heels of ‘Warplane’ and continues to pay homage to the singer’s love of military aircraft.“You have intentions of a bird/ Teach me your logistics on to fly like that/ You came to me so suddenly/ Now you’re here and I like it like that,” she begins to sing as the song builds. “I don’t have the time of day to tell you what I want to hear/ That’s why I cover both of my ears/ Your intentions are a bird I fear.”Check it out below.Speaking about the upcoming album as a whole, the artist – real name Jojo Orme – explained how it sees her push herself further than the critically acclaimed 2023 EP ‘A Comforting Notion’.“With my EP, people kind of pigeonholed me into post-punk,” she explained. “I was like, ‘Cool, I can do that, but I can also do way more’ – I can do post-punk, but I can also be poppy and catchy, and this album represents that.

I think people might be surprised when they hear it.”Produced by longtime collaborator Dan Carey, the LP is also set to make nods to artists like Depeche Mode, PJ Harvey and LCD Soundsystem, creating what a press release describes as “a powerful sonic onslaught that is entirely Heartworms.”Comprised of nine songs, it is also set to explore themes of broken families and broken relationships, along with a sense of embracing chaos.
