Metallica‘s Kirk Hammett has revealed that the band snuck the Batman theme song into the riff of one of their tracks.The song ‘Shadow Follows’ which appears on Metallica’s 11th album ’72 Seasons’ features a riff that happens about four minutes and 20 seconds in, which refers to the theme of the 1960s Batman TV show. The riff was nicknamed “The Batman Riff” during the production of the track.In an interview with Total Guitar, in which Hammett was asked about the superhero reference, the guitarist said: “That’s really funny, because we called that riff ‘The Batman Riff’, and I know exactly what you are talking about.”Fans had been speculating about the similarities between the riff and the signature Batman sound online, with many taking to Reddit to see if anyone heard the similarities.

Metallica have announced their final show of 2023 which will take place at a festival in Saudi Arabia next month.The band will be headlining the opening night of the three-day Soundstorm festival in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on December 14. Corey Taylor has opened up about how Metallica frontman James Hetfield helped him to feel less alone as he tried to get sober.The Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman has been sober since 2010, following years spent dealing with alcohol and drug issues.“[I was] dealing with my own various addictions and fighting the depression that I had to deal with for years — the trauma that kind of came from when I was growing up,” Taylor told Consequence Of Sound in a new interview.He went on to add that these traumas included being sexually abused and growing up without a father figure.Taylor then pointed towards Hetfield as one of the people who “helped me kind of figure it out” when it came to sobriety.“When he first started his journey, getting sober and getting healthy and whatnot, I looked at that, and I was, like, ‘Well, shit, if he’s strong enough to do it, maybe I can try it’,” he said. “[Sobriety] had a big enough effect on me that, over the years, I’ve really tried to stick with it.

Metallica had a four-legged fan join them at their recent ‘M72′ world tour gig in California – with the band sharing a story of a dog watching the entire show after running away from home.After escaping its home which was located near the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, the dog – whose name is Storm – made its way into the venue and caught the band’s full 16-song set of their show on August 27.
