Marvel Studios has paused production on the upcoming reboot of Blade starring Mahershala Ali, according to reports.Following the departure of director Bassim Tariq last month, Marvel has temporarily shut down production in Atlanta, where filming was scheduled to start in November.According to The Hollywood Reporter, the pause is to give the studio time to search for a new director and “coagulate other aspects” of the project. It’s claimed the studio is aiming to restart production in early 2023.The film’s release date, which was originally scheduled for November 3, 2023, has since been pushed back to September 6, 2024.Tariq’s exit as director was cited as being “due to continued shifts in our production schedule,” according to Marvel.

Disney+ has announced a 2023 premiere for its upcoming original series The Worst of Evil.On October 4, Disney+ announced its latest upcoming Korean title The Worst of Evil, starring Ji Chang-wook (If You Wish Upon Me), Lim Se-mi (True Beauty) and Wi Ha-joon (Squid Game, Little Women). The series will be available to stream exclusively on the platform sometime in 2023.According to Disney+, the upcoming crime-action drama is set in 1980s South Korea, and follows undercover police investigators who infiltrate a massive criminal organisation responsible for the illegal drug trade between Korea, China and Japan.Ji stars as series lead officer Kang Joon-mo, who is part of the investigation.

Disney+ has released the first trailer for its forthcoming Korean crime-thriller series, Connect.The visual opens with Ha Dong-soo (Start-Up’s Jung Hae-in) jumping off of a building, later healing from the injuries he sustained during the fall. As the trailer progresses, it is revealed that Ha Dong-soo gets glimpses of the gruesome attacks committed in Seoul through his missing eye.Connect follows a man who is kidnapped by a gang of organ harvesters, waking up from the ordeal to discover that they have taken one of his eyes.

Planet Of The Apes franchise, alongside a first look from the film.Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes, directed by Wes Ball (The Maze Runner), picks up “many years” after the events of 2017’s War For The Planet Of The Apes.Freya Allan (The Witcher) and Peter Macon (The Orville) join previously announced cast member Owen Teague in the film, written by Josh Friedman, Patrick Aison and Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes screenwriters Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver.In a statement, Steve Asbell, president at 20th Century Studios, said: “Planet Of The Apes is one of the most iconic and storied science fiction franchises in film history, as well as being an indelible part of our studio’s legacy.A new saga begins.“Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,” picking up many years after “War for the Planet of the Apes,” starts production next month and stars Owen Teague, Freya Allen, and Peter Macon. Blade director Bassam Tariq has exited the project weeks before filming is scheduled to begin.The upcoming Marvel reboot, which stars Mahershala Ali (Moonlight) as the vampire hunter, was set to start shooting in November in Atlanta, US.As confirmed by Marvel to The Hollywood Reporter, Tariq, known for helming 2020 drama film Mogul Mowgli, will no longer direct the project.“Due to continued shifts in our production schedule, Bassam is no longer moving forward as director of Blade but will remain an executive producer on the film,” Marvel said in a statement to the outlet. “We appreciate Bassam’s talent and all the work he’s done getting Blade to where it is.”In a separate statement, Tariq said: “It’s been an honour working with the wonderful folks at Marvel.

Werewolf By Night has received positive first reactions following an early screening to critics and fans.The Marvel TV special had a surprise premiere at Austin’s Fantastic Fest on Sunday (September 25), which has a tradition of featuring ‘secret screenings’ each year.Directed by Michael Giacchino, Werewolf By Night stars Gael Garcia Bernal as Jack Russell, a man afflicted with a curse that turns him into a werewolf while retaining his human intellect. Star Wars character Darth Vader after 45 years in the role.As reported by Vanity Fair, the actor, 91, has signed off on archival voice recordings being used by young filmmakers, who plan to recreate Jones’ voice from his previous films for future Lucasfilm projects using artificial intelligence.“He had mentioned he was looking into winding down this particular character,” Matthew Wood, a veteran at Lucasfilm, said. “So how do we move forward?”Lucasfilm first partnered with Respeecher, a Ukrainian start-up that uses AI technology to create new dialogue from old voice recordings, on Disney+ series The Book Of Boba Fett to replicate the voice of young Luke Skywalker.Jones’ voice was artificially recreated for Darth Vader in recent series Obi Wan Kenobi, although Lucasfilm said the actor “guided” the performance.

Disney+'s is staging a mini reunion with several original cast members for season 4, which kicked off production in Salt Lake City, Utah, earlier this week. Star Wars series Andor has received positive first reactions after the first four episodes were released to critics.The Disney+ series is a prequel series set five years before events in 2016 film Rogue One.
