Bring Me The Horizon‘s Oli Sykes and Mat Nicholls have announced that they’ve signed up for a charity triathlon to raise money for UKRAINEPRIDE.In August, the singer and drummer will take part in the Allerthorpe Sprint Triathlon, which is described as “one of the fastest-sprint distance triathlon courses” in York.Raising money for the LGBTQ+ charity, Sykes pointed out in an Instagram post today (June 20) that UKRAINEPRIDE “needs all the help it get get right now”.“yooo so me & @mickypickles r doing a triathlon this august,” Sykes wrote alongside a photo of the two bandmates. “We wanted to raise money for 2 causes that r at the forefront of our mind right now so with the help of my good Ukrainian friend @yavashadasha we settled on @ukraine.pride an amazing organisation that supports the LGBT+ movement in Ukraine which as you can imagine needs all the help it can get right now.”He added: “We have never done any kind of marathon/sports event like this so we are pooping our pants just a little, so the more money we raise the more you’ll spur us on to smash it! Bring Me The Horizon‘s Oli Sykes has spoken about how the band were received by the media during their earlier days.Over the past decade, the Sheffield metal titans have gone on to become one of the most popular bands in British rock. However, according to frontman Sykes, it wasn’t always like that.Speaking in a recent interview with Kerrang!, Sykes recalled how BMTH were portrayed by the media when they were first gaining popularity.“Our band was kind of branded as a Mötley Crüe-esque bunch of fucking dickheads,” Sykes said.

Muse have recruited British songwriter and Bring Me The Horizon collaborator Dan Lancaster to be part of their live band.Performing their first major shows of 2022 with two special charity gigs at London’s Eventim Apollo Hammersmith earlier this week, Muse treated fans to new songs and “deep cut” rarities, as well as unveiling a live line-up that features Lancaster on additional synths, keys, percussion and guitar duties. Bring Me The Horizon have revealed that they’ve recorded “about 45 songs” for their next release.The band’s last project was their ‘Post Human: Survival Horror’ EP, released back in October 2020.The first of several releases, frontman Oli Sykes told NME last year they were “working on parts two, three and four simultaneously” and that they were hoping to “get songs out as soon as we can”.The Sheffield rock giants then gave fans a taste of what they can expect from ‘Post Human 2’, sharing new single ‘DiE4u’ in September 2021.Speaking in a new interview, Sykes has now shared an update on the record as well as their forthcoming schedule.“We’re doing lots of gigs hopefully, if the world goes alright,” he told BANG Showbiz (via Contact Music). “Lots of European festivals and we’re going to the States in September.

Machine Gun Kelly and Bring Me The Horizon’s Oli Sykes debuted a new song that appears to be called ‘Maybe’ in LA on Friday (March 4).The two musicians made an appearance at the long-running club night Emo Nite at the Avalon in Hollywood.Fan-shot footage shows Kelly and Sykes on stage at the event as an unreleased song played over the PA. BandLab NME Awards 2022 award winners Bring Me The Horizon are due to stage their own festival in Malta in May – an event they’ve said will be “like Fyre Festival but with better sandwiches”.The Sheffield band were speaking to NME from the winner’s room after picking up the trophy for Best Band From The UK Supported By Pizza Express.Bring Me’s Malta festival, announced last November, will take place from May 26-30 and feature a full live show and an exclusive retrospective set from the band.Discussing what to expect from the event, drummer Mat Nicholls promised “bingo with Jordan Fish [BMTH keys player]. Iggy Pop and Bring Me The Horizon have both cancelled a number of their respective scheduled live shows following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine last week.Iggy was due to perform a headline show at the Park Live festival in Moscow on July 10 alongside Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes.Sharing an update on Twitter today (March 1), promotors Solo Music Agency confirmed that Iggy’s appearance at the event will no longer go ahead.“In light of current events, this is necessary,” an official statement reads. “Our thoughts are with the Ukrainians and all the brave people who oppose this violence and seek peace.”You can see that announcement below.The festival appearance of @IggyPop in Moscow on the 10th of July 2022 is cancelled.

Bring Me The Horizon‘s recent ‘Post Human’ arena tour succeeded in reducing carbon emissions by 38 per cent, emphasising that such changes to touring are possible.Taking place from September 20-26, the tour saw the band take a more sustainable approach to touring, the results of which have now been detailed in a report by AGF.According to the report, the reductions were achieved by using renewable fuel for trucks, plant-based meals, food waste reduction and energy efficient equipment. The tour also banned plastic bottles, relying on back of house and tour bus water coolers, which resulted in the prevention of 3322 plastic bottles being used.The band invested in making recommended changes, while Raw Power Management, United Talent Agency (UTA), Promoter Kilimanjaro, and The O2 (the venue for the London leg of the tour) shared the cost of sustainability implementation advice and tour impact audit.Matt Ash of Raw Power Management said: “Working with an artist in BMTH and a tour production team that was fully behind the approach to sustainable touring was something that we absolutely endorsed and are keen to implement on all future touring whenever possible.”Claire O’Neill, CEO of AGF, added: “During the pandemic, the touring music industry came together on the important topic of sustainability.
