Black Honey have returned with their buzzing, powerful new single ‘Charlie Bronson’, accompanied by a boxing ring-set video.The track follows the release last year of the Brighton band’s second album ‘Written & Directed’, which landed at Number Seven on the Official UK Albums Chart.‘Charlie Bronson’ keeps the four-piece’s momentum going with a raw and unfiltered exploration of singer and guitarist Izzy Phillips’ experiences with the weight of societal expectations. “Gaslighting myself again,” she sings. “Lay me down with Marilyn / Rest in peace and rise again.”“There’s a personality in my head that feels like Britain’s most notorious prisoner,” Phillips explained in a press release.

Black Honey have expressed their gratitude to the NHS by sharing details of their guitarist Chris Ostler’s recent recovery from surgery.The four-piece shared the lengthy message on their social media channels ahead of their support slot at Liam Gallagher’s free show at The O2 in London last night (August 17) for NHS workers.Black Honey’s statement details how Ostler reported losing his mobility back in February, which caused the band to cancel a planned livestream as he was admitted to hospital.“Chris was in a hospital bed on discord at 10pm doing promo for the release of ‘Disinfect’ when the doctor came in and said: ‘The pictures aren’t pretty, you have a herniated disc in your neck which is compressing your spinal cord.

IDLES have confirmed a new live date for their forthcoming Eden Sessions show.The Bristol five-piece had initially been set to perform at the gig series, which will take place in the grounds of The Eden Project in Cornwall, in July.However, that show, along with the rest of Eden Sessions’ live programme for summer 2021, was postponed due to the numerous uncertainties caused by the coronavirus pandemic.The organisers of the Eden Sessions confirmed last week that a new series of gigs will now take place in September, and they have today (May 5) added IDLES to the bill.A post shared by Eden Sessions (@edensessionsofficial)The band will now play as part of the Eden Sessions on September 18, with support coming from Black Honey and Spectres.
